Dataset License

1) Definitions

Dataset means the files and content provided by ASG, including (as applicable) JSONL, Parquet, manifests, metadata, documentation, and updates.

Snapshot means a time-stamped, versioned, immutable release (e.g., "2025_12").

Authorized Users means Licensee employees and individual contractors working on behalf of Licensee, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Output means models, embeddings, features, analyses, reports, dashboards, metrics, or other results created using the Dataset.

2) License Grant (Typical)

Subject to payment and compliance, ASG grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:

• Download and store the Dataset internally
• Use the Dataset for internal research, evaluation, analytics, security operations, and model development (including training and fine-tuning)
• Create Outputs derived from the Dataset for internal business use
• Make reasonable internal copies solely as necessary for the above purposes

3) Restrictions

Licensee must not, and must not permit others to:

• Redistribute, publish, or share the Dataset (in whole or in part) with third parties (including repositories or data markets)
• Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize the Dataset itself
• Use the Dataset to create a competing dataset/data product for third-party sale
• Remove or obscure notices, identifiers, or manifest metadata (except for internal processing)
• Use the Dataset in violation of applicable laws or regulations

Outputs may be shared externally only if they do not contain any portion of the Dataset that would allow reconstruction of raw records (e.g., near-verbatim dumps of records).

4) Snapshot Immutability & Versioning

Snapshots are designed to be immutable after release.

• If errors are discovered, ASG may issue a new version (e.g., "v2") while preserving prior versions for reproducibility.
• Each snapshot includes a manifest (counts, schema version, timestamps, checksums) to support auditing and regression testing.

5) Ownership

ASG retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Dataset, including curation, compilation, enrichment, packaging, and metadata. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

Licensee retains ownership of its Outputs, subject to the restrictions above.

6) Source Materials & Third-Party Rights

The Dataset may be derived from public information sources (e.g., government publications). ASG provides curation, normalization, enrichment, and packaging. Licensee is responsible for determining whether its intended use requires additional permissions for underlying source materials in its jurisdiction or use case.

7) Disclaimer

THE DATASET IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." ASG DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The Dataset does not constitute security, legal, or compliance advice.

8) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ASG is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. ASG's total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the applicable Dataset/Snapshot(s) during the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9) Termination

ASG may terminate access immediately if Licensee materially breaches the license and fails to cure within a reasonable period after notice. Upon termination, Licensee must cease use and delete copies, except archival copies retained solely for legal/compliance requirements and not used for any purpose.
